This is my second year taking part in the GB Pixel Art Jam 2026, and I decided to create a mythological creature with three heads, given the theme is to interpret the number three within the piece.

The Warnwing is a hydra creature that can call out for any danger from any direction as they are flying above the landscape. In this case, the three heads are from different bird species - the owl, eagle and duck. The owl (the leader of the heads) is in charge of the nightly dangers, the eagle is responsible for looking over the sky and the duck takes charge of any water-related dangers. These three heads are connected to one body, which is a small dragon body - using a small tail, hands and feet. The expressions have also been designed specifically to focus on them searching for the dangerous situations at any points notice.

Overall, this was another fun jam to take part in, but did feel tight due to my other commitments that weekend. I am looking forward to next year's jam - whenever that may be!

NOTE - The entry was submitted before the deadline. After the submission, I noticed that I accidentally uploaded one of the earlier exports for the original-sized version of my artwork. The full version was completed and uploaded before the deadline, albeit uploaded in the upscaled form. The complete original-sized version (160x144) has since been uploaded on this page.
