The Corruption Cycle

This is my submission for the Super Nintendo Style Graphics Jam #2, which had been running through February. On this game, I based this on the SNES pixel art graphics and using the constraint 'stuck in a loop', I decided to go with the concept of being stuck in a looped curse of being corrupted.

Honestly, the Super Nintendo has always been such a precious moment of my childhood - it was the first games console I ever played on and is one of the big reasons why I am creating video games.

Talbon is a scientist that was suddenly caught in a weather storm like no other whilst searching the environment. Unfortunately, a mysterious cloud that holds a chemical that causes his pixels to become corrupted in a cycle. The only way for him to break this loophole is to confront the main suspect behind the curse who goes by the name of Chemicloud. Using the science knowledge to his advantage, he had been spying on Talbon and stealing his endless knowledge to design a dangerous chemical that will corrupt those who touch it! Since he invented the chemical, when the cloud ceases to exist, it will reverse the thoughts of the chemical and destroy the loophole. Now, Talbon must face against this tough cloud before his loophole condition takes a turn for the worse...or just a few pixels....

Controls:

A = Move Left

D = Move Right

Space = Jump

E = Fire Attack (Firefinger)

Mouse = (Hover over and click on text buttons with LMB)

Keep in mind, this is a very short demo version of this game, mainly due to time constraints and me working solo. I am planning to develop this further in the future, and adding new mechanics that include slope detection, more environments and further NPC discussions. Spending further time beyond this jam, I can definitely improve on the now-streamlined project I have already.
